A9507284) Anglesite - Monteponi Mine, Iglesias, Carbonia-Iglesias Province, Sardinia, Italy Size: 10.3 x 6.0 x 5.0 cm (cabinet) Price: $ 2500
Incredibly large and sharply formed crystals of anglesite for this old and classic Sardinian locality! Colorless semi-lustrous slightly translucent prismatic crystals of anglesite to 6.0 cm in length are set nicely upon a 10.3 x 6.0 x 5.0 cm matrix. Very minor chipping is present to the prominent crystal at its base as seen in the photos. Outside of this, the crystals are sharply formed and damage-free. Very fine and choice cabinet piece for the species/locality! B711069) Beryl var. Emerald - Bakhi Mine, Panjsher Pegmatite Field, Panjsher Valley, Hessa-e-Say District, Parvan Province, Afghanistan Size: 3.7 x 3.7 x 3.1 cm (miniature) Price: $ 1200
This is an outstanding emerald specimen for this locality! The specimen consists of a rich dark green slightly translucent prismatic doubly terminated emerald crystal measuring 3.0 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm in size frozen upon a white calcite rich matrix. The crystal is undamaged and displays perfectly. There are a few cracks across the c-axis, but the crystal is very stable and rehealed nicely. There are no repairs on this. A superb piece. Size: 3.7 x 3.7 x 3.1 cm. C6308453) Carrollite - Kamoya South Mine, Kamoya, Kambove, Central area, Shaba Cu belt, Shaba (Katanga), Congo (Zaïre) Size: 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm (miniature) Price: $ 485 ex. Peter Gillis
In the past few years the mining area in Shaba has "reset" the standards for this species. The miniature shown above is outstanding. A very large and sharply formed crystal for the species, this measuring 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm in size, is set nicely upon a 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm matrix. The crystal is cubic, with octahedral modifications on the corners. The crystal edges are, in general, very, very sharp, with only a few areas of microscopic chipping present. This is a fine crystal for the species and the specimen makes for a great miniature. F123065) Ferberite with Quartz - Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China Size: 19.4 x 19.0 x 10.0 cm (large cabinet) Price: $ 1500 - ON HOLD
A superb large cabinet combination piece from this famous locality! A 19.4 x 19.0 x 10.0 cm matrix of crystallized quartz, these colorless and glassy with good transparency. The quartz crystals measure to 6.0 cm in length. In association with these quartz crystals are many superb lustrous black bladed terminated crystals of ferberite to over 7.0 cm in length. There is a lot of very good ferberite on the specimen. Other than some minor chipping to the quartz at the base of the piece, this is in outstanding condition damage-wise. Minor fluorite in association. For a large cabinet ferberite specimen, this one is "tops"! Ref: Rocks & Minerals: 80(1), 46-57. F123028) Fluorite with Quartz, Arsenopyrite - Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China Size: 12.6 x 9.2 x 8.5 cm (cabinet) Price: $ 1350
A very pretty and aesthetic combination cabinet piece consisting of a 12.6 x 9.2 x 8.5 cm mica crystal coated matrix, this hosting numerous transparent glassy complex crystals of rosy-purple fluorite to 3.5 cm on edge. On top of the piece are long thin slender colorless transparent to translucent colorless quartz crystals measuring to 4.0 cm in length. The aesthetic arrangement of the quartz crystals is great. No damage. Minor arsenopyrite in association. Comes with a special made acrylic display base for a great display piece. Ref: Rocks & Minerals: 80(1), 46-57. M2564311) Malachite - Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts, Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Size: 10.6 x 7.6 x 2.4 cm (cabinet) Price: $ 800
Bisbee is easily one of the United States' most revered mineral localities. Good specimens from this mining district are always in high demand. The malachite shown here is quite unique and very attractive, this basically showing two different generations of crystallization. One consists of light green botryoidal crystallized malachite, this with many "tubes" or small stalactites coming out of the botryoidal malachite. These are hollow and none are terminated. A second later generation of malachite, dark green and chatoyant is present along the edges of the specimen. Neat and attractive! Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 12: 256-319. Size: 10.6 x 7.6 x 2.4 cm. P2485316) Pyromorphite - Bad Ems, Bad Ems District, Lahn valley, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany Size: 6.4 x 4.2 x 2.9 cm (miniature) Price: $ 1500
A superb grouping of brown crystallized pyromorphite without matrix. The crystals measure approximately to 2.0 cm in size. Minor chipping is present, not atypical of these. Overall I think the condition of the specimen is very good. The crystals are lustrous and quite thick. A fine German classic! Ref: Ref.: Lapis 16(1), 38-53. Size: 6.4 x 4.2 x 2.9 cm. 3328001) Pyromorphite - Wheatley Mines, Phoenixville Mining District, Schuylkill Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania, USA Size: 5.6 x 5.1 x 3.5 cm (miniature) Price: $ 2800
A superb well crystallized example from this old classic U.S. locality. Worked in the mid-1800's, this mining district provided at the time the nation's best pyromorphite specimens. The specimens from Idaho have since of course eclipsed these. Still, they make fine classic examples and this is a good one. Deep green hoppered prismatic crystals of pyromorphite to 0.6 cm in length are richly covering the front side of a 5.6 x 5.1 x 3.5 cm matrix. No damage. Ref: The Mineralogical Record: 20(5): 369-384. R9500106) Rhodonite with Pyrrhotite - San Martin Mine, Chiurucu, Dos de Mayo Province, Huánuco Department, Peru Size: 15.0 x 7.7 x 7.1 cm (large cabinet) Price: $ 8250
From the recent finds at this locality about three years ago. An oustanding and showy large cabinet piece! The matrix measures 15.0 x 7.7 x 7.1 cm in size overall; it features two main areas or clusters of beautiful pink translucent bladed rhodonite crystals, these measuring to 5 mm in length. The cluster at upper left measures approximately 6.6 x 4.4 cm in area. There thin platy highly lustrous crystals of pyrrhotite to 1.4 cm in size present just below this larger rhodonite cluster. A smaller pyrrhotite is associated with the smaller of the rhodonite clusters. Undamaged; a gorgeous cabinet piece! Ref: The Mineralogical Record:20:481. S3206162) Scheelite with Beryl, Muscovite - Beryl-Scheelite deposit, Huya village, Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China Size: 16.8 x 12.2 x 9.7 cm (large cabinet) Price: $ 20000
The finest examples of scheelite ever found have come from this locality in Sichuan Province. The example shown here is outstanding. A complete undamaged orange lustrous compound scheelite crystal measuring 12.0 x 9.8 x 9.5 cm in size is set right on top of a muscovite coated matrix. The crystal is free all around as seen in the photos. Some translucency is seen on the edges and corners of the crystal. There are small glassy pale blue crystals of beryl present throughout the matrix. An exceptional large cabinet piece for this species! Size: 16.8 x 12.2 x 9.7 cm.
